Three Spheres II - M.C. Escher

Three Spheres II

1946, Lithograph

Three Spheres is exactly what it sounds like: a print of three spheres on a flat surface. The left-hand sphere is transparent, allowing light to flow freely through. The right-hand sphere is opaque, only marked by a perfectly blended shadow. The middle sphere is reflective, showing Escher drawing the scene in perfect detail.
